Even though I’m a born and bred African and have lived here for 37 years (two years in other countries), I still expect the sun to be shining every day and the temperature to be above 23°C. Even though I’m a born and bred Capetonian and have lived here for 33 years, I should know that we have a temperate climate (of sorts) and I shouldn’t have unreasonable expectations of the elements.

I’m truly happy when the sun is shining and I can feel the warmth on my body. So, this morning is an exciting time because the sun is out and it’s warm. Based on my 33 years living in Cape Town, however, I know that this warmth may be shortlived. So, my dilemma this morning is what to wear:

Should I be bold and wear a t-shirt on its own?

Should I be bold and wear a t-shirt on its own?

... or should I be safe and wear another shirt underneath my t-shirt?

... or should I be safe and wear another shirt underneath my t-shirt?
